During my recent visit to Thailand, I for the first time visited Krabi. This is one of the amazing places in the world I’ve seen so far. The whole Krabi province is beautiful in terms of beaches, hills, mountains, greenery and quite environment. There are many tourist destinations in Krabi such as Ko Phi Phi Islands, Ao Nang, Krabi Town and many more, I stayed at Ao Nang for two days, and I’ll share my experience with you.

How I Reached Ao Nang?
Ao Nang is the first destination you’ll see if coming using a Ferry from Phuket. So I first booked a connected Ferry from Phuket to Phi Phi Islands (which is also a nice place) and then spending the day at Phi Phi, in the evening I reached Ao Nang – Krabi. From the ferry terminal in Krabi, I took a mini-van which left me at my hotel near the beach at Ao Nang. You can also take a flight from Bangkok to Krabi if you are in Bangkok, and from Phuket to Krabi there is bus service too. But I’ll highly recommend to use Ferry service which is just awesome. The Ferry from Phuket to Ao Nang cost me 800 Baht which included lunch and some moves into different Islands in Phi Phi.

The Ferry will take approximately 4 hours to reach Krabi from Phuket, but if you are also staying in Phi Phi Islands then the journey will be split in 2 hours each. However, it was an unforgettable experience for me via Ferry.

Outside the Ferry terminal at Ao Nang, you’ll see taxis and mini-buses which will take you to the beautiful Ao Nang beach and town. The mini-bus should not take more than 100 baht per person, we paid 100 bath for two person, the guy was very generous.
Exploring Ao Nang
Ao Nang is a very nice place, it has a friendly atmosphere and smiley people. It has attractive beaches and beautiful small markets. The whole town can be seen just by walking on the streets, We luckily had the hotel near the beach on the main road, so it was very easy for us to explore the town anytime in day or at night. Traditional Thai massage is available everywhere on the streets, and there are many night clubs on the beach side.

You’ll also find many Muslim Thai girls wearing Hijab in Ao Nang and working everywhere in the shops and markets. The whole Krabi province has a reasonable Muslim population, but these Muslims share the same love and smiles like other Thai people. They are no different except the faith.
Ao Nang to Krabi Town
After spending two beautiful days in Ao Nang, we wanted to take a bus from Krabi town (bus station) to Hat Yai. So we came outside our hotel, and found a taxi who took 400 Baht to the Bus Station in Krabi town, it was almost 30 minutes journey from Ao Nang to the Bus Station in Krabi Town. However, it was also amazing because we saw a lot of hills and forests on the way to bus station.

The Bus station is just simple, you’ll see ticket counters when you enter the Bus station, and you can get a bus ticket to almost every place in South Thailand. Buses leave to Phuket, Pattani, Satun and Hat Yai every hour, and we took our ticket for 170 baht to Hat Yai which is four hours away from Krabi via Bus. The bus had free WiFi and also had stops two times in the way. Have fun!
